We definitely take our hearing for granted. Everyday we encounter a mirage of sounds that bring us a variety of emotions. Have you ever taken the time to appreciate your sense of hearing? What are your favorite sounds, and are you starting to miss them? Imagine yourself in the following situations, and then ask...
Am I missing out on the sound of my grandchild's playful laughter? Can I hear that treasured, "I love you." ?
Can I hear the sounds of nature around me - the birds, the wind blowing through the trees? Can I hear my the sound of my dog's excited bark? Would I be able to hear a quick warning from my companion should I encounter a dangerous situation?
Can I carry on a conversation amidst the roar of the boat engine?
Do I miss the sound of the golfball as it falls into the hole?
Would I hear the warning, "Fore!"
Do I hear the gentle and soothing babbling of the brook?
Can I hear the reel as it releases the line?
Do I still hear the crashing of the waves against the seashore? Can I hear the squeals of the seagulls flying above my head?
Do I still hear the crackling roar of a fireplace? Do the surrounding noises in a restaurant drown out my loved one's voice?
Is quiet conversation with a loved one difficult to hear? Do I hear "thank you," "please," and "I love you"?
Am I able to hear the preacher's voice during church services? Do I miss out on encouraging comments because I struggle to hear the words?
